Stopek Stables is proud to welcome "Untouchable".  Untouchable is an  imported approved German Trakehner mare.  She stands an impressive 17+ hands high.  Untouchable is sired by the legendary German Trakehner sire, Habicht. Habicht was a Premium stallion at his German approval and Champion of his Performance Test.  He was a successful international event horse in Germany and has sired Olympic contenders including Livius, part of the US showjumping team in the LA Olympics and Windfall, 2004 Olympic Bronze Medal winner in Eventing in Athens.  "Touchy" was ridden 2nd Level Dressage in Germany and also used as a lesson horse.  She will be bred to our approved Trakehner stallion, Prelude By Mozart.  We feel Untouchable and Prelude will produce an exceptional Trakehner!

*Update; Touchy is recovering from her November 2005 colic surgery.  We are eagerly anticipating her full recovery and future foals by Prelude!

Touchy is the proud mother of UMA by Prelude By Mozart.

***Newsflash-  Heather Stopek won 2 Gold Medals on Klassic Mist at the Iowa Games held at  Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine on July 19th, 2003.  Congratulations, Heather!

Klassic Mist is a registered 1991 gray Half-Arabian mare.  Her pedigree includes Azraff and Raffles on the top and Doc Bar on the bottom.  We purchased her as a green broke 3 year old.  Misty's accomplishments include winning blue ribbons in English Pleasure, Equitation,  Hunter Over Fences and Dressage shows, as well as fox hunting with the Moingona Hounds.  Misty and Heather Stopek won the title of Youth English Hi-Point Champions of the Flying Arrow Saddle Club in 1998, Champions at the September 2001 IaDCTA Dressage show at Maffit Lake Farms, Training Level Junior High Point for IaDCTA in 2001, and a Bronze Medal in Dressage.  Misty is a favorite school horse at Stopek Stables, teaching beginner through advanced students.  We are thrilled with Misty's 2002 colt, Sweet William.  He is pictured below.

Sweet William was born chestnut with a star and one sock on 4-15-02, and is turning gray.  By the time he was 3 days old, he was already doing flying changes and canter pirouettes in the pasture.  "Will" is a Trakehner cross.  He is owned, loved and trained by Heather Huntoon.  Sweet William is everything Heather hoped for and more!

***Newsflash:  Sweet William won the Hunter Breeding Two Year Old class and Reserve Champion Young Horse at the 2004 Ohio Professional Horsemen's Association Hunter Jumper Show!

"Copper" is a classically beautiful 1993 16.2hh chestnut Trakehner mare.  Copper is not only gorgeous, but is also friendly and sweet with world class movement.  She has tremendous hock action and an incredibly powerful hind end.  She is by an imported German Trakehner stallion and is out of a Canadian Thoroughbred mare.  Her family tree includes Komet (, Maharadscha, Nasrullah, and Owen Tudor. She is the proud mother of a very handsome 2004 minimal white bay tobiano colt by Sculptor.  This colt is sold to USDF "R" judge, Jan Jacobsen in Apex, North Carolina.  Copper gave birth to Precision, a chestnut colt by Prelude By Mozart.  Precision may be seen on our "Foals" page. Her foals will be eligible for ATA registration and all ATA Futurities.

Affectionately called "Raven" after the bird shaped star on her forehead, this mare stands 16.2 1/2 hands high.  She is a 1999 Iowa bred Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred and is approved by the American Trakehner Association. Her pedigree traces back to Man O' War and she, herself, was a winner on the track.  She has a sweet disposition and is a beautiful mover.  She has good saddle position, good depth of girth, and correct and straight legs.  She scored an impressive "8" on her legs at her ATA Inspection.  Raven produced an exceptional Pinto Oldenburg colt, Sebastian, by Sempatico in 2005 and produced a handsome bay colt named Replica by Prelude By Mozart in 2006.   Both colts may be seen on our "Foals" page.  Raven will be bred to Prelude By Mozart for foals that will be eligible for ATA registration in the Official Stud Book and all ATA Futurities.

S.S. Beau Raff is a registered 1987 gray Arabian gelding.  "Buddy" is worth his weight in gold as a school horse at Stopek Stables.  He is a pleasure to ride both English and Western and is always on his best behavior at shows.  Many a student has won ribbons on Buddy in English Pleasure, Equitation, Western Pleasure, Lead-line, and even Barrel Racing!  Way to go, Buddy!!!  Buddy is now in semi-retirement with Dave and Kris.

Chatterbox Chelsea is a 1996 registered bay Shire mare with 4 white socks and a blaze.  She stands 17 hh and came to us as a green broke 3 year old.  Like many Shires, "Zena" is a gentle giant with incredibly elegant movement.  We couldn't be happier with her foals, Luke and Lexi.   In between foals, we enjoy riding her both in the arena and down the trails.  We even use her to teach riding lessons!

Sadly, we lost Zena on 6-21-02 due to a ruptured uterine artery during labor.  She was a wonderful horse and a good friend.  We are heartbroken and miss her terribly.  Thanks to our friends, Mike and Candy, for the rose bush in memory of Zena.  It is a beautiful reminder of a beautiful horse.

The Little Prince was Karen's first horse.  She fell in love with him while taking riding lessons at Raccoon Valley Horse Center in Des Moines, Iowa.  "Dale" eventually moved with Karen to her backyard in Chesterland, Ohio.  For many years, he was her best friend.  The highlight of their show career was a first place trophy in Open Jumping at the Great Geauga County Fair Horse and Pony Show in 1982.  He will never be forgotten.
