Prelude went to Texas for the 2007 ATA Convention where he won 2nd place in the Hunter Stakes and tied for 1st place in the Jumper Stakes. He was ridden by Jeff White of Whitehorse Farms in Prosper, TX. He is pictured below jumping the Puissance wall at 5'3". Stopek Stables was proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the Convention for the third year in a row!

Stopek Stables is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the ATA Convention and Inspection for the second year in a row. We had a wonderful time exhibiting Prelude in Columbus, Ohio. He was shown by Karen Stopek in the Stallion Parade and finished 5th in the Hunter Stakes ridden by Leslie Smith. Thank you, Leslie, for riding Prelude on such short notice. Prelude and Leslie made a great team!

Prelude won first place at his first USEF "B" rated Hunter/Jumper show, the Saddle & Sirloin in Kansas City, MO in June, 2006.
Congratulations to Anna Greiman- Iowa Dressage and Combined Training Association's 2006 Junior Champion and winner of the Silver Intro Rider Award! Anna won these awards while being coached by Heather Huntoon and riding Stopek Stables' Klassic Mist.

The “D” Series Hunter/Jumper Awards Banquet was held January 19 at the North End Diner in Johnston. The Stopek Stables Show Team coached by Karen Stopek did very well! Awards were given to Abby Jackson, Erin Jackson, Savanna Rowe, Meagan Newell, Jessica Kramer, Karen Peters, Cari Johnson, AraMay Hubbard, and Karen Stopek. Winners of 2006 “D” Series Champion embroidered saddle pads were Savanna, AraMay and Cari. 2005 ATA Inspection



Stopek Stables hosted an Inspection for the American Trakehner Association on Saturday, July 30, 2005. We would like to thank all of the participants and spectators for attending. A wonderful time was had by all and it was an educational experience for everyone. Special thanks to our Inspector, Mr. Brad Kerbs, Vice President of the ATA, and his lovely wife, Susie, for scribing. Congratulations to all of the mare owners whose mares were approved! Stopek Stables is proud to announce that two of our own mares, Silverweed and Resail Sally, were approved. They are bred to Prelude for 2006 foals.
Pictured above is Sweet Opportunity, a Thoroughbred mare owned by Meredith VanBentheysen. She was approved by the American Trakehner Association on 7/30/05. We are eagerly anticipating her 2006 foal by Prelude!
Also approved was the lovely gray mare, Polareis, owned by Saunja Mildenstein and Key To Turn, a beautiful Thoroughbred mare owned by Lynn Seaba.
Special congratulations to Leonard and Patricia Foley and their Trakehner mare, Athaena*M*. Athaena*M*, by E.H.Caprimond, won highest scoring OSB Trakehner mare and scored high enough to achieve Model Mare status! She is also expecting a 2006 foal by Prelude!
2005 Oldenburg Inspection

Stopek Stables presented 4 horses at the ISR/Oldenburg NA inspection held at Woodridge Farm in Claremore, Oklahoma on Septemeber 24, 2005. We are proud to announce that both of our Thoroughbred mares, Silverweed and Ain't She Speedy, were approved and entered into the Main Mare Book! Also, both of our fillies, Amazing (by Art Deco and o/o Silverweed) and Hope Rising (by Hall of Fame and o/o Ain't She Speedy) scored very well and are registered and branded Oldenburg NA! Little Rascal attended the Iowa Dressage and Combined Training Association's Dressage Show on May 28, 2005 and won his first time out! He is the winner of the In-Hand Pony class. He was shown by Karen Stopek. We are looking forward to many more wins for Little Rascal, our homebred Trakehner/Welsh gelding. He is now enjoying his new home with Melanie G. and her daughter in New York. We wish them much luck with his future show career as a Medium Hunter Pony!!!

Heather Stopek won 2 Gold Medals on Klassic Mist at the Iowa Games held at Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine on July 19th, 2003. Congratulations, Heather!

Cari and Destiny are showing in Jumpers under the guidance of Karen Stopek. Cari J. and her jumper, Unforgettable Destiny, won 2 medals in the 2005 Iowa Games in Jumping. They also won the 3'3" Jumpers at the Valley Park "D" series show. In 2006, they won first place at the Saddle & Sirloin "B" rated Hunter/Jumper show in Kansas City and are the Midstates Jumper Champions for the second week of the Midstates "A" rated Hunter/Jumper show in Mason City, Iowa.
