Stopek Stables is proud to announce one of our newest additions to our broodmare band, "Untouchable".  Untouchable is an  imported approved German Trakehner mare.  She stands an impressive 17+ hands high.  Untouchable is sired by the legendary German Trakehner sire, Habicht. Habicht was a Premium stallion at his German approval and Champion of his Performance Test.  He was a successful international event horse in Germany and has sired Olympic contenders including Livius, part of the US showjumping team in the LA Olympics and Windfall, 2004 Olympic Bronze Medal winner in Eventing in Athens.  "Touchy" was ridden 2nd Level Dressage in Germany and also used as a lesson horse. 

*Update; Touchy is recovering from her November 2005 colic surgery.  We are eagerly anticipating her full recovery and future foals by Prelude!

*"Touchy"  represented the Trakehner breed at the 2006 Iowa Horse Fair in Des Moines on April 7, 8, &9.   She was ridden by Karen Stopek.

Touchy will be bred to our approved Trakehner stallion, Prelude By Mozart for a 2009 foal!  This foal will be eligible for the Official Stud Book of the American Trakehner Association and for the American Trakehner Futurity.

"Trinket" is a 1993 bay Thoroughbred mare registered with the Jockey Club as "Silverweed".  She is approved by the American Trakehner Association and is an ISR/Oldenburg NA Main Mare Book mare.  Her pedigree includes Bold Ruler (sire of Secretariat) on the top and Northern Dancer on the bottom.  We acquired Trinket after she retired from a racing career (completely sound after 26 starts over 4 years and winnings of over $26,000) and we have  since  retrained her as a hunter.  She is only 15.2 hands high, but has an impressive 192 cm heart girth and 21 cm cannon bone circumference.  She has correct legs and her canter is ground covering with good separation of the hind legs.  Trinket is a scopey jumper and is ridden over fences when not in foal.  Trinket is the proud mother of  Trakehner and Oldenburg foals including Skywalker,  Larkspur, and Amazing (pictured on "Foals" page).  She will be bred to Prelude By Mozart for future Trakehner foals.

Chestnut Oldenburg Filly

Art Deco (Dutch Warmblood) x Silverweed (ISR/Oldenburg MMB Tb + also approved ATA)

Born June 15, 2005

This lovely chestnut filly with a star is by the imported legendary black and white pinto Dutch Warmblood stallion, Art Deco, who is listed in the Top 5 Dressage stallions by USAE.  Art Deco has also produced top jumpers. He is approved Oldenburg/ISR, RPSI, Oldenburg Verband, AWS, IRC, PtHA & Canadian Warmblood.   She is out of Silverweed (a.k.a. "Trinket"), our dark bay Thoroughbred mare who is a winner on the track with 26 starts over 4 years and winnings of over $26,000.  Trinket is approved by the American Trakehner Association and is an ISR/Oldenburg Main Mare Book mare.  Trinket's pedigree includes Bold Ruler on the top and Northern Dancer on the bottom.  She received a "8" for movement at her ISR/Oldenburg inspection and is registered and branded Oldenburg NA.  She is FOR SALE.  Amazing is broodmare sound only.  We will include a breeding to Prelude By Mozart, Sculptor, or Kar Mar Buck.

 

"Copper" is a classically beautiful 1993 16.2hh chestnut Trakehner mare.  Copper is not only gorgeous, but is also friendly and sweet with world class movement.  She has tremendous hock action and an incredibly powerful hind end.  She is by an imported German Trakehner stallion and is out of a Canadian Thoroughbred mare.  Her family tree includes Komet, Maharadscha (damsire of Abdullah-Olympic Gold Medal winner in Jumping), Nasrullah, and Owen Tudor (British Thoroughbred famous for producing European Sporthorses). She is the proud mother of a very handsome 2004  bay tobiano colt by Sculptor.  This colt is sold to USDF "R" judge, Jan Jacobsen in Apex, North Carolina.  Copper gave birth to a chestnut Trakehner colt by Prelude By Mozart on May 25, 2006. She is confirmed in foal to Prelude for a 2009 foal.  This foal will be eligible for registration with the American Trakehner Association and for the American Trakehner Futurity.

 

Affectionately called "Raven" after the bird shaped star on her forehead, this mare stands 16.2 1/2 hands high.  She is a 1999 Iowa bred Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred and is approved by the American Trakehner Association. Her pedigree traces back to Man O' War and she, herself, was a winner on the track.  She has a sweet disposition and is a beautiful mover.  She has good saddle position, good depth of girth, and correct and straight legs.  She scored an impressive "8" on her legs at her ATA Inspection.  Raven produced an exceptional Pinto Oldenburg colt by Sempatico in 2005 and a handsome bay Trakehner colt by Prelude By Mozart in 2006.  Both of her colts,"Sebastian" and "Replica", and her filly "Rihanna" may be seen on our FOALS page.  Raven will be bred to Prelude for a 2009 foal.  This foal will be eligible for the Official Stud Book of the American Trakehner Association and for the American Trakehner Futurity.

Electa is a 1989 17 hand liver chestnut Swedish Warmblood mare.  She is by Elektron, a black Swedish Warmblood by Gaspari by Parad and out of Farah by Favorit by Magnifique.  Electa has competed successfully in dressage and is a schoolmaster.  Known around the barn as "Lexi Lou", she is used as a lesson horse when not in foal.  Pictured above with her beautiful 2006 Swedish Warmblood filly born on Valentine's Day 2006.

Sweet Opportunity is an American Trakehner Association approved Thoroughbred mare owned by Meredith VanBenthuysen.  Even though she is a petite mare herself, she has produced large foals that have exceptional dispositions and beautiful movement.  "Sweetie" produced a handsome 2006 Trakehner colt named Scorpio by Prelude By Mozart for Meredith VanBenthysen and will be bred back to Prelude for future Trakehner foals.  Scorpio is a stallion prospect, winner of ATA's 2007 Horse of the Year Hunter Breeding Colts, and may be seen on our "Foals" page as well as the above photos in the center and on the right.  In 2007, she produced another exceptional colt named Symfony.  He may also be seen on our "Foals" page as well as above.  This foal will be eligible for the Official Stud Book of the American Trakehner Association and for the American Trakehner Futurity.

This dainty black and white tobiano registered Shetland pony mare is a proven color producer.  She foaled a darling black and white tobiano Shetland colt in 2008 and will be bred to Kar Mar Buck for a 2009 foal.  FOR SALE
