Thank you for visiting Stopek Stables on the web.  Our goal is to produce, train, and sell exceptional hunters, sporthorses, and sportponies.  Our Warmblood and pony stallions have the best to offer for both dressage and hunter/jumper enthusiasts.  We currently have several Trakehners and other fine sporthorses and ponies for sale.  Our foals by our newly imported approved Trakehner stallion, Prelude By Mozart ,  have arrived.  They are eligible for ATA registration, branding, and ATA Futurities and most will be offered for sale.  To learn more about our sport horses and ponies for sale, please click here. 

Stopek Stables offers riding lessons and specializes in Hunt Seat and Jumping lessons for all ages.  We also offer Dressage lessons.  Students are welcome to ride their own horse or one of our "user friendly" school horses or ponies.  Some school horses are available for half-lease to our students.  Competition in schooling and rated shows is optional.  Our services also include training, conditioning, and showing of your horse.  Our staff is headed by the Mother/Daughter teaching and training team of Karen Stopek and Heather Huntoon.

Stopek Stables' facilities include over 20 acres with 5 pastures, box stalls with rubber mats, an indoor arena, a 100' x 200' outdoor arena with wood fencing, sand footing and jumps, and a round pen with sand footing.  We also have trails that go over the river (well, the creek in our case) and through the woods.  Both stall and pasture boarding are available.

For your convenience, we accept Pay Pal.  You may pay for lessons, training, stud fees, board, or even the purchase of a horse by using either your credit card, debit card or checking account through PayPal.  If you intend to make a purchase through PayPal, please let us know and we will be happy to send you a request via email.

 HALF LEASE PROGRAM

Some of our school horses and ponies are available for our Half Lease Program.  Leasing a horse provides an excellent way for potential horse owners to test out what it would be like to have a horse of their own.  The horses are available to be used by their lessees on the days they are not used for lessons (3-4 days per week).  This would include weekends since we do not teach lessons on the weekends.   Please visit our school horse page for more information and photos of available horses.

Prelude went to Texas for the 2007 ATA Convention where he won 2nd place in the Hunter Stakes and tied for 1st place in the Jumper Stakes.  He was ridden by Jeff White of Whitehorse Farms in Prosper, TX. He is pictured below jumping the Puissance wall at 5'3".  Stopek Stables was proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the Convention for the third year in a row!

New Uses for Avon Skin So Soft…

Avon Skin So Soft is not just for keeping your skin soft…. It’s for your horses too! 

SSS Horse Related Tips:

1.       It’s a great bug repellent.  You can use full strength or dilute it.  I prefer 1/3 SSS, 1/3 water and 1/3 white vinegar. 

2.       SSS Horse Tick/ Fly Spray: Mix 1 cup water, 1 cup SSS, 2 cups white vinegar and 1 Tbsp. Eucalyptus Oil (available at drug stores) and mist on show animals.  Brush it in and it makes their coats gleam and keeps insects off so the animals won’t fidget in the show ring. 

3.       SSS can be used as hoof polish!

4.       The bug guard towel-ettes work great on the horse’s ears and around eyes!

5.       The dry end serum works in their tails as a detangler!

Recipe for Horses:

Pour one (4 ounce) bottle of SSS Bug Guard with SPF 15 into a quart size spray bottle, then fill the 4 ounce bottle with SSS bath oil and pour that into the quart size spray bottle.  Fill the rest with water and shake well before each use!
